Arizona Weather...

So - I'm currently in AZ for work and it is cold!  Okay - not cold like -4 Chicago weather but cold as in low 50's... how is a girl supposed to enjoy some pool time and sun with low 50's weather... that's crap!

On the other hand I've been scoping the town of Scottsdale for celebs... sports celebs.  It's the superbowl later this week (boo- New England) and the FBR (or some acronym like that for a golf event).  I have yet to find Tom Brady although when I do I may not be able to hold myself back.  He is so dang cute!  :)

Glad I'm not flying back until tomorrow as I hear that nasty weather is currently hitting chi-town with a vengence!

Not much else new with me - winter sort of slows down, you know?  Still bowling (Jason and I both had a 200+ game last week!) and working hard!  Looking forward to a quick vaycay to San Antonio next month - I've always wanted to go there.  Hopefully nicer weather?   Eh - we'll see.

Amber - there is an amazing J Crew here - it's in Kierland Promenade Mall - check it out!

Well - hope all is well with you guys - sorry for the long time since updating!  It's the winter - it's boring!

Year In Review

This takes so stinkin' long... but it's fun to read other people's!

1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Planned a baby shower... I think I'm getting old.

2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't ever remember them - so I guess I would say I didn't keep it!  I made a funny one - but not willing to post it here... next time we talk - ask me about it!?

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No - but lots of friends and family members are expecting!!!

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No - and I am really thankful for that.  Wakes and Funerals are so painful.

5. What countries did you visit?
The Dominican Republic!

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
More Vacation!  I think I say that every year but I really love to travel and will pretty much forego all else to work in a vacation at least two weeks out of the year!

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The day my brother called to say they were having a baby boy - the Heemstra name lives on WAHOO!

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Joined the healthclub, upgraded to an office at work, deciding to try and live more for the moment!

9. What was your biggest failure?
Probably getting in better shape... I always put it off!

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Gallbladder issues but other than that - good to go.  No complaints as far as illness and injury go.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Plane tickets to the Dominican and to Lake Tahoe for vacation!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Amber and Tim getting hitched, lots of engagements, Jason helping around the house!

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
P - she is absolutely ridiculous.  And although I know she will never read this - I still don't have the courage to write her name.  Oh well - that chapter is O-V-E-R...

14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills, Bills, Bills.  Do you really think that song is true about Mo'Money Mo'Problems?  I think I'd like to be a test candidate because it seems like I would have less problems with a little more cash flow!

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Traveling, Biking the 355 Extension, Skiing on Heavenly, Fantasy Football

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Anything by Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? same
ii. thinner or fatter? same
iii. richer or poorer? same

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Cleaned the house - it gets messy so quickly!

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Planning... life is just as good when you let go a little!

20. How will you be spending this New Years Eve?
Spent it sipping martini's and playing poker

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Um... I thought I should write something clever like "yes, I fell in love all over again" but you guys know me better than that... I'm just not mushy.

23. How many one-night stands?
None

24. What was your favorite TV program?   The Office is fantastic - I also loved the Hills (lame!)

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Of course!  The jerk that pulled out in front of me this morning, the dunkin donuts man that forgets my splenda and a few select others!

26. What was the best book you read?
Didn't read much!  And even what I did read was just from the Chicklet section of Target.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra at Bella Martini... Life is good.

28. What did you want and get?        I wanted a pony but I haven't gotten it since I started asking in kindergarden

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 26. Went to the lakehouse for a relaxing memorial day weekend!

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Winning the lottery.  Seriously - is there any other answer for this question?

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Business - Casual - since I spend most of my time at work!

34. What kept you sane?
Heineken Light, Corona Light, Cedar Creek Wine, need I go on?

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Clearly Britney Spears - I mean she is the greatest role model and so how do you not fancy that?

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Obama v. Hilary

37. Who did you miss?
Everyone that lives out of state and fails to visit as often as I wish they could!

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Chris and Stacy

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:
I'm getting tired of this and this question is cheesy.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Fergilicious.

Ice Storm...

Ah Chicago... a lovely ice storm on Saturday and then sunshine and all remnants melted away on Sunday.  It would be so easy to be a Chicago weatherman... pick a forecast and chances are it will happen at SOME point during the day!

Oh well... I've often wanted to move to a warmer climate - at least in theory.  But most of all I would miss the seasons.  Winter really being winter - fall being fall - you know what I mean?

Two engaged friends over the weekend - very crazy - but very exciting!  It seems like love is in the air and I sure do love weddings so I'm excited for next year's festivities!

Work is busy but good and Mary Kay is going great!  Our director stepped down and our new one is from down near St. Louis.  She is incredible - very inspiring and as a result I've had my highest sales months since she bacame our director!  Great timing for the holidays - that's for sure!

Can't wait for Christmas - Can't Believe it's December already - CAN hardly wait to see what's in store for 2008!  Hope all is well with you guys - talk soon.

Thanksgiving Weekend!

I love extended weekends - you sort of forget it because there is such a LONG time between holidays (as I get a lousy 6 per year!) however when they come around it is so fantastic!~

Good times with the families.  For the first time since Jason and I have done "dual holidays" I really missed my family.  We were there for dinner and dessert and the "thankful speeches" but I missed the games and the late night turkey sandwich.  Even though I love Jason's family - there is something familiar and oh so comforting about traditions and what your own family does.  Anyway - I made the best of it and my fab sister in law even decided to organize a game (only 4 people played but it was a good effort!) and let me eat a turkey sammich.

Friday Dana and I got up at the CRACK of dawn and shopped.  Although I wasn't overwhelmed by the deals this year - we did get a bunch of christmas shopping done and it was great to spend some sister time.  She is so great - I don't tell her that enough but I love having a sister that is semi-close in age and really really fun.

The rest of the weekend sort of flew by with decorating and a variety of other things.  Looking forward to Christmas... I love the little white lights, smell of pine trees and the music - love the music.

Working on my Christmas card list - yes, I'm type A - and I need updates from quite a few of you.... (Mags, Maria, Lindsay, Laura Dillon)  Don't feel left out if you weren't listed - it just means I have your updated address (or that I don't want to send you a card... KIDDING!)

So - I've decided it's time we all get better at xanga or e-mail or phone calls or whatever.  I really like hearing what's new and also when we can all get together next.  Perhaps a Schueller (sp) wedding??

Keep in touch ladies... Love ya!

Robin
